Week 1   (Jan 10 - 17, 2016)

Introduction and stepping into research for teacher development

Moderators: Asli Saglam & Kenan Dikilitas

Objectives of the week

Welcome to Week 1!

After introducing yourself to the other EVO members, you will explore the characteristics of teacher development and discuss potential contributions of research to continuing professional development. This week we will be listening to and reading various sources and sharing ideas with others online.

Hopefully at the end of the week we will be on the same page regarding the steps of action research and be ready to discuss its potential impact on teaching and professional development.

Activities

Task 1:

You are all welcome aboard. Looking forward to getting to know each other. Therefore, as the first task please join our private Google Plus Community which will be our interactive space, where we'll learn from one another, share experiences, discuss weekly tasks and get ready to prepare our research plans. Go to the Google Plus Community and use the hashtag #321 Introduction or go to this link directly (https://plus.google.com/communities/103102128719681927531/stream/deb3291b-961a-4528-a48e-5676dd02137b  ) and write about:

3 things about yourself

2 things you like doing when you are not teaching

1 thing you are curious about and would like to research

Also include Contact information (e-mail, twitter handle...etc.)

You can make use of online tools if you like. Here are some suggestions:

We hope it isn't too much so early on in the course. We have just 5 weeks and have so much to learn!

Dear Koray,
I have managed to reach this page so far but I kept receiving messages saying that I have to join the Google Plus Community (which I think I did via wiki). Did I miss any steps during registration last week? I appreciate your kind assistance in this matter. Thanks.
